I just got the call…Pete went Home this morning. At his request, people were reading the Bible to him while he was in the hospice facility. Yesterday Pete was hearing about Jesus Christ…today he met Him face to face.
Thank you for all of your prayers, emails and comments posted here about Pete. When he and I talked about it last Thursday he didn’t understand what a blog was…but was moved by the fact that so many people from all over the world took an interest in him. For a man that was once told he would die on the streets…homeless and destitute…he sure had a lot of people that loved him.

I cant wait to meet him. Thank you for sharing his story with us.
Thank God for the gift of Pete’s life. What a powerful reminder of the grace of God.
And thank God for the shepherd’s heart of Chris Elrod.
God’s redeeming power is awesome. Who would have thought that Pete would have time to bear fruit? God can do anything. Thanks for letting us know.
This was a real inspiration. Thanks for letting us know about his life!
What a great story of God’s redeeming power. Thanks again for sharing, Chris.
Is this what it’s about or what? This is the reason we sacrifice to plant something.
Well done Pete.
Thanks Chris for the time you took with my dad. I realize you 2 didn’t know each other very long and that goes to show that we never know how much time we have, so lets make the best of it…..I hope he has met up with my mom, she passed from this life only 10 short months ago, I’ve got to make heaven to be able to join in the celebration they are having right now.
Thanks again, and God bless
Chris,
We will all look forward to enjoying Christ with Pete in the kingdom to come. A man who was once homeless is now walking in the presence of our all satisfying GOD. No more pain, sadness, fear or despair.
What an amazing timeline… Truly, a Bright Sadness. Sad that he’s gone, but beautiful knowing where he’s at…
