It Was A Team Effort

This past Sunday 3 people indicated on their communication cards that they accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior for the first time.  What an incredible day for the Kingdom of God…and Compass Point Church.  The Holy Spirit moved, we were faithful to God’s leading and people’s live were changed.  Over the years I have come to discover that it’s not just one thing or one person that causes a person far from God to embrace the Gospel…it is a team effort.  Three people came to Christ this past Sunday because God spoke into people’s hearts and…

  • A group of guys showed up at 6:00am to set up sound, lights, video and staging so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ could be clearly conveyed.
  • Musicians, singers and technical people worked hard to make sure that the grace and greatness of God was sung about with excellence.
  • Several ladies spent all day Saturday making home made baked goods to serve at the cafe so that the love of God could be shown in practical way.
  • Volunteers prepared all week so that fun filled crafts, crazy Bible songs, off-the-chain games and age-appropriate stories about Jesus cold be shared with children…that have never heard about Jesus.
  • Paid and volunteer leaders worked hard day after day to make sure that personnel, resources and finances were in place to carry forth Compass Point’s vision of reaching people far from God with the message of Jesus Christ.
  • Journey Group leaders reinforced the idea and vision that we need to be inviting people far from God to church on Sunday.
  • Men and women showed up early to put up directional signs, set up tables, make coffee and shake hands throughout the YMCA so that guests that had given up on church…could feel comfortable in a church.
  • A Godly group of Elders prayed over the preaching, musicians, technicians, volunteers and staff right before the service…asking God to move in a mighty way.
  • Pastors spent the past few weeks going over the message to make sure that the hope and truths of the Gospel would be conveyed in a clear and concise manner during the sermon.

God saw the team effort…deemed us worthy of the blessing of seeing people saved…and there are 3 more people going to Heaven.  I can only imagine what is in store for Compass Point this coming Sunday!!!
