It’s hard believe some days that Compass Point started with a little over a dozen people and $250 in the bank. Sometimes it’s seems just like yesterday that we were meeting as a Bible study in a North Lakeland apartment complex. Much has happened in the days since those first meetings. We have seen God move in mighty ways…seen many people come to Christ…seen people’s lives effected by God’s Word…and have seen the Holy Spirit blow through our midst like a rushing wind.
I’m beginning to feel that wind again…that precursor to a mighty moving of God. It’s like that first big breeze right before a large thunderstorm hits. You can sense the winds of change are quickly arriving…you can see the awesome clouds in the distant…hear the rumble of thunder…but can only really experience the initial gusts of the edge of the storm. I know that Compass Point has not been in a dry spell…we have experienced much refreshing rain recently. New people showing up…others stepping up…people being baptized…people coming to Christ. I just feel that the mild showers are about to turn into a raging storm as the Holy Spirit pours out His power on us. I feel like we’ve only experienced the tip of what God is going to do through us as a church…that we are sitting on the edge of the storm.
