Imagine gathering on a rooftop, looking across your local community and asking God to help you to see it as He sees it? Imagine what can happen if all of the evangelical churches in a particular city, town or county begin to work together to reach people for Christ? Imagine what would happen if every church leader from Polk County prayed together with one voice for the people of our community?
Next Monday night that is exactly what the leadership of Impact! Church will be doing – and I’m inviting all Polk County pastors and their staff to join us. Dennis Pethers – my good friend from England – will be in town to facilitate our church’s leadership team through some training sessions to better reach people far from God. One of his training sessions is called “The Rooftop” and he has graciously allowed us to open it up to other pastors and their leadership from the Lakeland/Polk County area. It will be night of corporate prayer for our community, as well as a time to ignite the vision and passion of reaching people far from God with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Please note that this event is FREE, but it is only open to Polk County evangelical pastors and their staff members or leadership team.
“The Rooftop” begins at 7pm on the top floor of the Imperial Swan Hotel located at 4141 South Florida Avenue in south Lakeland. Coffee and beverages will be served. We’ll start with Dennis sharing what God is doing around the world as a result of prayer and churches pulling together to reach their community. He will help us take a hard look at our community (thus the reason for being on the top floor) and help us cast vision for working together to win people to Jesus. The final part of the evening will be praying corporately and in groups for the people of Polk County. Again, there is no cost to anyone that will be participating. No need to RSVP, just show up – if you’ve read this – then you’ve been invited.
